Cruisin Brea on Father’s Day

The crew at Flying Deuces did it again with another hit show for Father’s Day. Over 300 cars lined Birch St. and surrounding lanes and even spilled into the parking structure in Downtown Brea.

What makes this show special is all the families that come out to celebrate Dad together. With the restaurants, movie theater and shops it is a great time for all, and the rows of classic, hot rods, muscle cars and customs make it a real treat.

This year I was working the Cambra Speed Shop booth as Ron Cambra was up in Famoso Dragstrip crewing his daughter Sophie’s Super-Comp drag racing exploits. What a treat as people came up asking about customer, Todd’s really nice resto-modded ’55 Chevy and Cambra fabricator Steven’s wild ’30 Model A Rat. Here’s a tip for next year. Go to lunch early. The restaurants (as well as the street) were packed and not unusual for a 30+ minute wait to take your order. I opted to skip the lines and ran over to the theater and picked up an over-priced hot dog and pretzel bites.

Other than that Cruisin Brea was an absolute blast, be sure to hit it next year!
