Wheelers Speed Shop

You may have read the article on Dan Fink Metalworks last month. While in the area I found Wheelers Speed Shop, just a few doors down the street from Fink. I was surprised to find a large busy shop with a collection of nice cars in the front. From a Wagonneer to a ’66 Mustang Fastback. Inside, at the counter I met Bryan Wheeler. There was a poster of Larry Beck’s ’56 Sunliner. I recognized the car from a show at the Fontana Speedway years ago when I picked up my ’56 Fairlane. Wheeler’s Speed Shop did the modern resto on the car.

Bryan offered to give me the nickel tour of his shop. There were some fantastic rides finishing preparation for the coming show season. They were buttoning up a really nicely powered woody and finishing up the metal work on a pro-street Mustang.

Bryan shared with me that many of his customers bring in their recently purchased vehicles for a full safety inspection. Bryan’s crew puts the vehicle on the rack takes a look at the braking system, steering, tires, suspension, and wiring. Basically, going through the whole vehicle and making notes on any changes that should be made and presented to the new client. Some people bring in a car that they are considering purchasing as well.

I haven’t heard much about this shop. My un-announced visit proved the shop to be organized, busy and highly experienced with top-of-the-line fabrication. The widened Mustang quarters and attention to detail affords this shop an endorsement. If you have a car that has been recently completed, thinking about purchasing or simply needs a good going over. I suggest taking it to Bryan and Wheelers Speed Shop in Huntington Beach. Visit WheelersSpeedShop.com for more information.
