I know a lot of you are like us and have a shop truck to get parts or use as your daily driver. You can personalize your vehicle with your company name or any other graphic you design, or have designed. We thought we would share the word of Blacktop Magazine on our fleet of two Ram 1500 trucks.
I called on Signazon.com for the task. Their friendly customer service person gave me the details of the artwork specifications. Very friendly folks there, however, their website has all the answers too to get anything from Stickers to window graphics, even over-sized checks!
Our first instinct was to use the magnetic signs for the doors and the tailgate. The doors would simply feature our Blacktop Magazine logo and the tailgate would be professionally designed (by Blacktop Branding none-the-less) with images of our cover and a bullet list of what you’d find in our magazine.
After I sent in my artwork, I got an e-mail from the customer service department asking if we have considered their new EZ Stick Vinyl for the tailgate design. Their tech suggested that the weight of the magnet may tend to slip or fall off when hitting bumps or even slamming the tailgate down. I didn’t think about that and said, yes, let’s try it.
In about a week we received the two tailgate stickers and the four door magnets. I received an e-mail just minutes from when they were delivered, telling me that the order has arrived with links to the care instructions for the EZ Stick Decals. Wow!
The graphics were crisp and bold. The bright colors were not muted or shaded at all! The magnets arrived rolled up with the graphic on the outside, so the ends wouldn’t curl up. They suggest you stick the magnets on a flat surface like the refrigerator for the first 24 hours before you apply them to the vehicle. We put ours on the inside of the Garage Door.
Now on to the tailgate sticker. Signazon’s new EZ Stick Vinyl is made to be removable “hundreds of times without losing their adhesive, stretching out or damaging the surface for which they are installed!” We followed the instructions and with a couple of times pulling it off a couple inches to get it right, it did like they said. Minimal bubbles, which took a bit of time to work out to the edges. I like how the vinyl material is quite thick and doesn’t stretch when pulling it up or applying. For the size of graphic, it is best to have two people apply it. Billy helped me by pulling away the backing as I rubbed the sticker down with my palm of my hand. After the entire sticker was attached we spent about 15 minutes on each tailgate, ironing out the little air pockets.
