A Vegas Hot Spot for Gearheads.
I’ve mentioned this shop before. While on our way to the Viva Las Vegas Show we got a call from our Hub Buddy, Bad Ass Bob suggesting we stop in to his favorite shop in town and check out the cars he has.
Quite surprised on the open invitation from Rick to check out the shop. Excited for the weekend we blasted into town and over to Tucker’s Performance Center.
Rick had a stable of some sweet Buicks to show a perspective customer. Including our friend Bob’s red ’61 Invicta . There were also a couple of awesome resto-mods in mid build. A pro-touring T-Bird and a radical ’63 Split-window Stingray. The latter’s body was widened and bumpers tucked.
How did these rides get built in this somewhat hidden 24,000 sq ft shop on the westside of Vegas? It all started back in ’78 when Rick started Turbo’s by Tucker. Known for super-tough engines, transmissions and rear ends, they were soon off building award-winning customs and restored cars and trucks. The shop changed it’s name to Tucker’s Performance Center when Rick opened a collision center to help ‘pay the bills’.
Here in So Cal there are plenty of shops. Vegas however has only a couple of noteworthy garages and this is definitely one of them. I say, if you are in the southern Nevada or northern AZ areas, get your ride over to Tuckers and let them give it the Tucker Difference.
