What the hell did I just step in?

I was walking through the Bedlam at the Broiler show when all of a sudden I heard a song from the stage that I recognize. I had picked up a set of the “Sounds of Gasoline” CD’s at last year’s Rip’s BAD Ride V.I.P. night. One of my favorite songs is Rock Me by the Bastard Winos.
It was like I stepped in something really smelly. Not in a bad way mind you. This song is just good-old-fashioned blues inspired nasty-ass rock and roll! I had to introduce myself to the band after their set. I caught them before they scarfed some Bob’s Burgers. What a great bunch of guys, seemingly headed up by Harlis Sweetwater.
The very next day I’m over at the Tiki Highway show at Don the Beachcomber in Huntington Beach. The show is their follow-up from last year’s premier. The show was just buzzin’ about when all of a sudden, as if a wave was rolling across PCH to fill the lot, when everyone motioned for the bar stage to hear, yep, you guessed it The Bastard Winos. Twice in one weekend. I took a front row seat and shot the fun. Check out the video on our YouTube Channel. Ears were humming loudly for an hour after, but what a great set!
Now I gotta go get their album: Empty Bottles on iTunes and do a proper review. You should pick it up to before you step in it.
