Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show

Hosted by The Friends Of Steve McQueen supporting The Boys Republic

I have always wanted to go to this show. Every year it comes up, something else takes me away. This year, after prodding by my friend Steve (no relation) Yarber, I made it a point. And, so glad I did.

WOW!

You may have this experience, everyone telling you: Oh! You gotta make this show, it’s the best ever.” Then you are disappointed because your expectations were so high. Not this time.

I rolled in and parked in a field next to a hot air balloon, and some old ginny airplanes. When you enter they give you a nice program that tells you all about the event, the sponsors and Boys Republic. Then you see the cars, the bikes, the planes, the farm implements, a military display, dragsters and a cacklefest, vintage race cars, motorcycles jumping, more hot rods and boulevard bruisers, vintage cars and of course, VANS. Steve (no relation) Yarber is a member of California Street Vans and they gathered a bunch of their friends to display their cool rides straight from the 70’s. Jeff Styles and his wife brought their Boogie Van and Evel Knievel Vans, Greg was there with Deb and the Orange Juiced van, Cisco brought his boogie van, and cowboy was there as well as Jim’s Unicorn and of course Steve (no relation) Yarber had his original owner blue Tradesman. Where was Ron Cambra and his Octopus’ Garden or Deathwish?

Oh, there’s Ron, he was hanging out with the dragsters where some of the guys lit their engines up. Our friend Don Richards brought his recently completed Vicious Rat Nova for a couple of revs.

All in all a great day and surely another event not to miss next year.
