AN ARTMARTYR FEATURE
There I was innocently enough cruising through my Insta-feed and a couple of my rods and cones in my eyes get smoked.
I came across the bright colors and wild vision of Space Giant. The colors are certainly from outer space. I wish I could print this spread on velvet. Can you imagine?
Space Giant has a background in Architecture and Illustration. He’s based in South Austin and has been painting custom motorbike helmets and skateboards for the past 4 or 5 years. Founder of the annual East Side Classic vintage motorbike show and Helmet Art Show, he contributes to various car, van, and motorbike shows around Texas. He’s inspired by poster artists like Jim Franklin and Jim Philips, comic artists like Paul Kirchner and Spain Rodriguez, and hotrod artists like Robert Williams and Ed Roth.
With that we asked for a rendition of the Mitzi and Co Photo of Platinum Pomp with Gordon’s Chick Magnet for the cover of our ArtMartyr Issue Blacktop Magazine #26.
