Anthony Robinson’s Custom TriumphWhat if I told you this bike was built from recycled garage doors?
Pretty unbelievable, and yes, there is a twist.
I dig hearing stories about average guys like you and me who get an idea and work hard to make it a reality. Such is the case with this recycled Triumph.
Anthony Robinson owns a Garage Door Installation Company and when he recycles an old garage door, he devotes the money to build this bike.
Anthony found this bike on Craigslist for $700.00 as just a frame, engine, and wheels. In two years, part after part, this incredibly detailed bike is finished.
He applied great details to the parts he built. The brackets and mounts also feature nice details in material and finish. Brushed Brass, Polished Aluminum with unique milled details. The battery box is a 1960 battery charger he picked up in an old antique shop in Lancaster, CA and sprayed it Rhino black keeping the gauge intact.
He had many friends helping on the project. Anthony says he likes to bring friends in on a project. “It’s more fun that way.” The paint on the tins was applied by Mat Eagan from Australia. Dean did the motor for him, RJ from Lucky Metal Garage fabbed the tank and oil bag. The oil bag was built from the bottoms of two fire extinguishers.
So, I had to ask: “Why this type of bike?”
Anthony answered that his dad had an old Triumph as his only mode of transportation. And, his mom was pregnant with him at the time. Soon pops had to sell it to get a cage for the new family. When he found this bike he knew it would be something he and his son would get build together. Not long into it, the son decided to chase girls than parts.
Anthony takes this bike everywhere. He’s had it for a couple of years now and if you follow him on social media, you can expect many more exploits. He is currently working with Aaron Valencia on a 53 Chevy Pickup.
