A Speed and Chopper Shop in the heart of Sin City.

Last Year Billy and I went out to Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas Car Show. While there we hit a couple of other hot shows that Easter weekend. The Rat City Ruckus under the shadow of the Stratosphere and Lowbrow Las Vegas just blocks away from the strip off Blue Diamond. These shows were great because they showcased more of the local flavor of the Vegas rod and chopper scene. Living in So Cal, we have seen most of the vehicles that showed up at the VLV show.
So why mention them here? It as at the Lowbrow show where we first met Chop from O’ School Choppers. The show was in the back lot of his then new 5000 square foot shop. So what has happened in the last 10 months since then? Growth and Diversity.
It’s February in Vegas. Not the ideal month to visit the sin city. Frigid cold wind and biting misty rain makes for a shitty ride down The Strip. That’s when I decided to hit some shops. I made a couple of calls and found myself back at O’ School.
Bayley the shop doggy welcomed me in. Right off the bat I noticed some cool bikes in the showroom and a busy shop out back. O’ School Choppers is as diverse as any shop can be. They offer Harley Rentals. There’s a stable of Fat Boys, Baggers, Dressers and such to choose from, including choppers! How cool is that?! You can fly in to Vegas, do some gambling, hit the sites, and cruise around in a cool-ass chopper.
Chop showed me around their 1000 square foot showroom with plenty of room to grow this year. Soon there will be a Tattoo Artist in one corner and next to that an O’ School Barber as well. The ceiling is high and can support a second level as they grow. You can shop for completed bikes, parts, apparel and accessories too. There are several cool parts they have designed including a bobber seat pan kit, “zero-vibration” mirrors, and a right side jockey shift kit for shovels and evo’s.
Back in their shop the expanse is broken up into different areas. First up is the custom chopper shop where they build choppers and bobbers of English, metric and HD power. Next to that is their Metric shop where they perform maintenance and upgrades on your favorite Japanese v-twins and dirt bikes too. Across the corral of rental bikes is the expansive HD service shop. Here we see the Cadillac Pussy. Getting a fresh paint job on the tank featuring a Tyson McAdoo stylized chick and metallic red paint. They offer an upgrade to your Sportster. For a nominal fee they will turn your pre-rubber mounted HD Sportster into a hard-tailed bad-ass OSC Bobster!
But wait that’s not all…
Back at the parts counter and showroom Chop shows me their new beverage line: O’ School Kool. O’ School Kool is an energy drink with less caffeine than the popular brands and available at local bars and taverns as a great mix with your favorite Vodka.
Almost hidden in the corner is the Randy “The Natural” Couture Humm-C Chopper. You can order your very own limited edition Humm-C with proceeds going to the Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation. Stay tuned to O’ School for many new things coming. We certainly will be back every time we are in Vegas. You should too. They have been building chops and rides for 8 years and have been just blocks off the strip for the past year or so. An easy ride up Russell Road at Valley View just west of the 15 freeway. Be sure to give Bayley a scratch behind the ears. See you there!
