FUELAB 529XX Series Electronic Fuel Pressure Regulators Control FUELAB Fuel Pump Speed
FUELAB 529XX Series Electronic Fuel Pressure Regulators work directly with FUELAB Prodigy fuel pumps to control pump speed. Thereby, reducing heat build-up and vapor lock conditions related to street and strip operation.
Just like standard EFI regulators, the 529 Series regulators relieve pressure (back to the fuel tank) once the set pressure is achieved: As a higher volume of fuel is sent through the regulator, it reduces the excess flow back to the fuel tank. FUELAB’s patented electronic regulator takes this action one step further by placing a restriction valve along the return line. This valve is fitted with electronics to monitor pressure and then control the FUELAB Prodigy Fuel Pump accordingly. If the regulator senses pressure is too high, then the Prodigy Pump is signaled to slow down. If the pressure is too low, then the pump is signaled to speed up. This action not only allows the pump to operate at a reduced amount speed with low engine output, but also allows the return line flow rate to be relatively constant. Another special feature of the 529 Series regulators is a 0-5 volt reference output that can be used for diagnostics and data logging (proportional to pump speed).
With the new FUELAB demand based system, true pump control is finally achievable. The system is easy to install with no calibration required.
