WOW Motorcycles is an internationally known local business; the world’s largest independent motorcycle and powersports shop, owned and operated by a woman. Hunter has 30+ years of overcoming many obstacles to ultimately buy this tremendously successful international business.
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
WOW Motorcycles began in the late 1980s as World On Wheels International, founded by a Belgian diplomat Guido Adriaenssens. The company started out as an international export company, selling anything on wheels – from vintage Harley Davidsons to juke boxes, from fax machines to Coca Cola memorabilia. In 2002, Adriaenssens decided to dedicate himself to wholesaling motorcycles around the world full time, and opened a brick and mortar space in Marietta.
In February 2024, Candy purchased WOW Motorcycles, which has since evolved into WOW International, selling and shipping powersports vehicles locally, nationally, and all over the globe. WOW has recently diversified even further by adding street legal golf carts to their vast inventory in recognition of the increasing demand in both residential and commercial areas.
“Currently, our full-service local business includes selling new and preowned motorcycles and powersports, as well as providing parts, service, and motorcycle rentals. Our international business focuses on selling and shipping premium motorcycles to Asia, Europe, and South Africa,” explains Hunter.
“Through years of hard work, commitment, and passion for this business and its people, I have become fortunate enough to lead this amazing team as we continue to evolve and define what a leader in this industry can be,” says Hunter. “When I started, there were very few women in powersports, and I have worked for the opportunity to demonstrate not only that we belong in this industry, but we can be leaders who bring new ideas and perspectives to the table. I have Big dreams for what WOW can achieve, and thirty years later, I believe that we are just getting started!”
WHAT IS THE APPEAL?
WOW Motorcycles is “the brand” for powersports, which includes motorcycles and street carts (utility vehicles, or golf carts for the street). Street carts have a much broader appeal to all ages and have the commercial draw for municipalities (sherrifs amd police), private sector entities, universities, resorts, campgrounds, farms, and walkable cities such as Marietta Square, Downtown Roswell, Woodstock, and Peachtree City.
