Here is one of those products that you wonder: “Why didn’t I think of that?”.
We installed an AEM Cold Air Induction System on the Blacktop Bruiser 2005 5.7L Hemi Ram Truck a few years back and never really thought about that air tube going across the top of a hot engine.
Well, the good folks at Cool-it ThermoTec created a solution. The COOL-TUBE Heat Sheild is a blanket you wrap around the tube and lace it up tight. The design of the cover allows it to fit from 2-1/2 inch to 3-1/2 inch air tubes up to 36 inches long. The heat shield blocks over 98% of the radiant heat up to 2000 degrees and can withstand direct temperatures of 750 degrees Fahrenheit. The kit comes complete with four different color laces, blue, yellow, red and white.
