We found this cool pamphlet from Michael Goyda @grancor on IG. It is certainly a second part to the video we presented from 1953 about safety and hot rodding.
Some of the goodies in this publication include: “…a story of faster speeds with greater safety.” when talking about the standards of what has become the Southern California Timing Association or SCTA. It continues: “After the first 10 years of successful racing on the dry lakes, two forward thinking members [of SCTA] named Wally Parks (Founder of the NHRA), and Bob Peterson (Founder of Hot Rod Magazine) decided that the hot rodders were ready for bigger and better things.”
