End Of An Era
I may be a bit jaded. We all know that in order to compete for the historic America’s Most Beautiful Roadster trophy you have to have some serious chops. No doubt that every builder who has won and even those who have competed are incredibly talented. This year’s winner was reportedly built with a $1.2 million budget.
Among the behemoth known as a Packard, there were some great personal garage built competitors. One of our favorites was Don Lindfors’ deuce truck and Matt Dragoon’s Fool’s Goldster.
I thought I have seen every tri-five out there, and D&P Chevy with Danchuk presented a building full of them, organizer Kevin Doyle said the invited cars were from all over. There was a really nice black and white ’57 came out from a collector in Texas. It was a very impressive collection. I especially liked seeing John Barkley’s patriotic ’57 that won the 1968 Winternationals.
The show was just like it was expected. Incredible cars, great friends, a reunion for sure. Can you imagine if they added more interaction between the cars and the people with some autocross, cruising, or something else. Stay fresh.
