Gary Loope’s 1929 Ford Roadster

For this episode of the Motor Minute, I caught up with Gary and his wife at the Orange Plaza Rotary Car Show. I was struck by the simplicity of this cool little hot rod and after talking to Gary for a moment I wanted to share his story with you.

The car was a 25 year build after obtaining the primer body and boxed frame. He had several different flathead Ford engines till he settled on this modern French block holding 300ci. The Edelbrock intake and heads are a great foundation for the 2 Stromberg 97’s. Modern brakes and a quick-change rear end make it a nice driver.

The interior is comfy even in the damp cold morning air as they made their way to the show this morning. What do you think about this cool little rod?
