Sometimes owning a truck is rather frustrating.
We have all been there, you are unloading a truck full of a days work and that dang gash between the tailgate and truckbed is a stumble. Debris gets down there and makes a mess that you have to clean up in order to close the tailgate.
The good folks at ECOOLOGICAL have a solution. GapShield. A simple product that relieves a big problem. GapShield is a rubber mat that expands over the gap between the bed and tailgate. GapShield has two 3M super adhesive strips on the bedside to hold it in place and the flexibility is perfect to close the tailgate.
It installs easily enough. I was joking with Billy that this job has a difficulty rating of a “One-Beer-Job”. Although sober, he gave it a chuckle. Simply lay the product out in the sun to warm it flat (it is shipped rolled up). While it is flattening out, clean the area with soap and water and measure the width of your bed. Mark the product and cut with some good scissors. One of the two strips is on a stiffer product that you want right near the end of the bed. We laid that down first, then pulled up the edge to release the other strip. And that’s about it. My neighbor came by and said: “Wow, that was so easy you guys can do it!”
