Three Wheels Bastard
Photos: Peter Ström, Story: Febe Ström
If the bike has a name, how did you come up with it?
We wanted to build a Trike that is more like a Chopper than a Trike, long, clean and low. It’s combination between a Trike and a Chopper
Tell us about who built the bike, whose idea, who did what.
The idea for the bike is all my husbands and little bit of mine, Calles Chopperdelar Sweden build the frame after our specification
What is your favorite aspect of the bike?
Although I have a muscle disease I can drive my bike and join my husband and friends on the roads.
What type of riding do you do most with this bike?
I’m taking the motorcycle out for the first trip in late of April. After that we have been around on motorcycle events and Bike Shows. We take the bikes for a ride and have coffee with friends. I’m using my Trike when I travel to and from work in the summertime.
We’ve travelled around Sweden on our vacation both on the mainland and on the beautiful island of Gotland in Sweden’s east coast.
Mostly and as soon as we can, we take short rides to and around our capital of Sweden, Stockholm. Totally we are on the road 6000 km every season.
It’s handles like a go-cart. The bike is great, smooth to ride, easy to handle, fast and very reliable.
This is my personal bike build for me.
What gave you the idea for this bike, or what were you trying to accomplish?
Wanted to show that we could build a good looking Trike, that looks like a chopper.
We built it in addition to make it work well for me since I have a muscle disease that makes me unable to drive a conventional motorcycle. The solutions that we came up with make it easier for me to ride and drive the bike and allow me to be on the roads together with my husband and friends.
Have you entered this bike in any shows? If so, how did you do?
1st place on the Easy rider bike show in Vega/Stockholm September 2009
3rd place on Custom bike show in Norrtälje June 2010
1st place best bike on Peråker speed parts June 2010

1st place on Easy rider bike show in Vega/Stockholm August 2012
Are you particularly pleased with any particular parts or accessories? Was anything much better than you thought it would be?
From the beginning we didn’t knew if the Trike would work for me so I ‘d like to say that the whole bike makes me happy and that it turned out so much better than we even hoped
After the rebuild it become even better and good looking.
The auto clutch is really a cool part and it makes my driving so much easier. I just release the throttle and switch gear.
Accessories – I just love my real brass knuckles in the rear that we found on an arms exhibition and my foot pegs, look alike brass knuckles that I bought in the US.
Also I like the texts on the bike, which can be annoying for some people, especially Baggers.
