YouTube has quickly become a great source of entertainment online and I have a drop of four of my favorite channels.
Back in the early pandemic era, Billy told me about a channel that is doing some hot wheels racing. I logged on to 3Dbotmaker’s channel to catch the first of their “DRC” Diecast Rally Championship. 3Dbotmaker was a diecast track parts printer but the channel took off so much that the parts he made became free for anyone with a 3D printer. Since 2020, they have created hundreds of videos in different series that are an absolute hoot to watch and listen. They create characters out of each of the vehicles and do a great job with the play by play which is just as good as any race channel I have seen.
Next up is some fun with Duke and Lola Bossanova from the Bossanova Life channel. This couple from the Pacific Northwest head to car shows, vintage trailer shows and another favorite is the Secret Tiki Escapes playlist. I really dig the way they work off each other and introduce you to their friends in the whole rock-a-billy/pinup scene in the Pacific Northwest. Heck you may even see several cameos with one of my favorite cover girls Adorabella Christina and Sveinn Photography.
The Hagerty channel has some great shows and a full line of automotive playlists. My favorite these days is following Tom Cotton as he digs into barns and yards to see some real treasures on The Barn Finder playlist. He has found some super-rare vehicles and his motorsports heritage is shown in the deep knowledge he has. Impeccably filmed, it is a great show to watch while on lunch break. Totally takes you away as he cruises the backwoods in his 40 Ford Woody.
If you are into automotive history such as the “Tailfin Wars of the 1950’s” or the inevitable “Malaise Era” you gotta check out EAR Ed’s Auto Reviews. Ed is from the Netherlands and has an insatiable appetite for the American Auto Industry. His wit and charm make up for the very few factual mistakes you may find. It is a super fun and interesting channel anyway. He get’s into all kinds of car era, makes, homelands, and just all around car trivia.
Hope you dig some of these channels and if you subscribe or leave a comment, tell em BlacktopTV sent ya. I would appreciate that. If you dig this article, maybe we will do another on our favorite How-To channels. The first one that comes to mind is only half How-To’s and half hittin the shows. That’s Custommikes channel...
