Blacktop Magazine stopped by Dan Fink Metalworks to see what’s new at the shop.
I met up with Owner John West who showed me around the clean shop. He was proud of the work being finished on a Rolls Royce which was hot rodded with a Corvette powerplant and suspension. The LS7 motor is expertly detailed and the C4 suspension makes the RR sit real nice. It would be nice to see it turn heads and burn rubber on the autocross course. They also converted it to right-side drive with a custom built dash, and delivered to Japan. John was able to scavenge the original 189hp 6.75L V-8 Rolls motor to put in his rare ’32 Ford B400.
The shop is divided into two companies. Dan Fink Metalworks and Dan Fink Grilles. The latter, sold to father/son, Kirk & Jake Encinas. While there I was treated to a demo on laying the stainless steel grille pieces together. Their chief grille assembler has been with the shop for 25 years!
I asked John about his specialties and besides building really cool concepts such as the Rolls, they will take pretty much anything that comes in the shop from as small and simple as a trophies for a car show series to a 20′ conference/game table (pictured).
