SEMA – Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association is the premier professional organization for the automotive aftermarket. Their annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas is the second largest trade show in Sin City and arguably the best car show in the world. A couple of years ago, the SEMA Action Network (SEMA SAN) lobbied the National Congress to declare a Collector Car Appreciation Day. Some may wonder why would the organization work so hard to declare a day for collector cars. The answer is about perception. There have been many attacks to our hobby in recent years. The nationally designated event provides a vehicle for SEMA to show the power of their constituents in stopping the attacks to our hobby by special interest lobbies. With events throughout the country SEMA is able to show how important collector cars are to our culture.

This is the second year we rolled up to the SEMA HQ for their BBQ. There were significant vehicles on display as well as a cool tour of their new testing facility recently acquired from the Automobile Association of America.
