What can an exhibitor do to drive traffic to their booth? Some look to the fantastic figures of the local models with logo’d mini-skirts and imaginative revealing outfits, where others call on their television celebrity friends. I have had the pleasure of meeting Dennis Gage when I was the Art Director at Classic Industries and showcased our products in the garage segment of his show. A gracious host and instant friend.
We were honored to be invited to sit at Dennis’ VIP Table at the Annual SEMA Banquet. This year, Stacey David, and Genevieve Chappell joined in on the fun too. The banquet features comedic and musical talents, this year was a bit different as American Idol winner Taylor Hicks performed. Between awards and presentations moderated by the Voice of the NHRA; Dave McClelland, John Heffron and Jon Reep kept the audience laughing with their unique brand of humor. After the show we went out in the courtyard and had some fun taking photos and then Gene Winfield, Linda Vaughn, and Dave McCleland stopped by.
Other highlights of the show afforded us the opportunity to sit with George Barris for a bit, meet Jessi Combs, Arlen Ness, The Count, John Force, the boys from Gas Monkey Garage and Candy Clark. But that’s not all we shared our ride home with Dan Woods, host of Chop Cut Rebuild. It was a quick 4 hour ride home as we told stories into the night.
