The Daggers OC Car Club hosted a car show at Bigs Grill in Fullerton recently. After hitting a couple of other events, I rolled in there early in the afternoon as the show was just getting started. I almost missed the show. As I pulled in the parking lot of Bigs, there were only three cars there and no sign of a show, as I turned my bike around and headed out on the main drag, the corner of my eye caught the blue metalflake of George’s truck in the back alley. Around it were several cool customs in mid-build and road ready.
The guys and dolls of the Daggers OC car club are a great bunch of people, we sat at a table inside having a beer and sharing stories while the show outside progressed. Later we rolled in the alley to find several more cars have arrived and more coming in. I found it pretty refreshing to see a young group of people getting out and having some fun. Dixie Rebelle – a recent Blacktop Betty – was there and she posed for a couple of shots. This show was different because it didn’t utilize the big parking lot on the other side of the joint, instead the cars were stuffed in the alley, what I would imagine a NYC show would be like. Great backdrop for these cars as well.
The show was free to enter, they gave a couple of trophies but most importantly they wanted to support their favorite watering hole and show some community love. I say, help out this club if you can and stop and say hello when you see them at So Cal events.
