I have known Mike Trimmer for several years now. I have always, I mean ALWAYS loved his car. It completely reminds me of a model I built when I was like 13 years old. Nearly 40 years later and I can still smell the glue, the chrome rear end and cutting the shocks to slam the nose in the weeds. It was a warm Indian Summer in Orange, California in 1976 and I am wearing out the grooves on Boston’s first album. I just got off a summer bus trip with 100 other teens around the country. We rolled through 22 states during that bicentennial year. My first time away from home on a trip by myself. I didn’t know anyone on the trip, but that didn’t last. Anyway, I digress as I am now writing this with Boston playing in the background.
Back to Mike’s ride.
As you can probably guessed I have always jonesed after Mike car and would love to own a model A sedan delivery at some point. And this one was done right. Black laquer paint with red leather interior. Just the right stance, wheels, everything. Even the ’63 Corvette 327 mill is a great choice. The graphics painted on the panels was done by my friend Chris “Stubby” Rasnick, fellow Merciful.
Mike has been a member of Early Times for as long as I have known him and most likely even longer. He and his wife Nina went everywhere in that rig. Sadly she passed away a bit ago, and we all miss her infectious smile and enthusiasm for everyone in the hot rodding community. I am sure you will dig this car as much as we all do.
