A couple and their trucks.
The first time I saw this truck it was love at first sight. Maybe it was the memory of the movie, or perhaps it was the song, She Never Cried (when old Yeller died). But whatever it was, it was just a moment that you never forget.
Charlie Milan, a retired Texan who resides near Rio Vista, has a passion for vintage trucks. He and his wife Gayla enjoy taking their classic trucks to the Car Shows in the area where they have raked in the trophies and plaques. The truck is a real eye catcher that has pulled in over 50 trophy’s over the past few years.
Her truck is a 41’ Custom Chevy truck with an aluminum front end that sits over a 383 V-8 Stroker tied into a 700R transmission. And the aluminum bed sits over a 308 rear end. The custom interior comes with AC and a tilt steering wheel.
But back to Old Yeller, a sweet ride in itself, this 48’ International sits on top of a 4×4 Blazer fame and running gear. Yeller is powered by a 350 backed by an auto trans. “It rides like a lumber truck,” Charlie tells me, but like his niece Lindsey Fiore, it’s sure easy on the eyes.
