I first saw Tony Divish’s 1946 Chevy Panel truck at the Wamego Kansas 4th of July celebration called the Walter P. Chrysler Car Show, since Walter P. Chrysler’s birthplace is Wamego Kansas also known by the locals here as the gateway to Oz.
I was passing through the car show quickly same cars I’ve seen for the last 10 years every year. So I was looking to see something new. Something exciting. I found it when out of nowhere was this 1946 Chevy Panel truck. I almost had to fight the crowd to get a close up look at this fine automobile built by Bright built hotrods of Salina Kansas.
I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots in hopes to find the owner at a later date possibly through Facebook.
Sure enough I posted the photo a couple times and met the owner through Facebook and a shoot was scheduled for the fall with two lovely ladies Ms Mandie Sue and Ms. Michelle who I have worked with for the last five or six years doing photos. The photos below were taken on a farm property in Saint George Kansas and also the city of Wamego Kansas at their local park with a still functioning Dutch mill on display.
This panel truck does not less around with an ls1 engine as the heart of this beast it rumbles behind me Enroute to our shoot locations while I was driving my 2011 dodge challenger. I have to admit I turned down the radio to listen to his motor as he followed behind me.
I would have to say I think the name showstopper would be fitting for this fine example of an automobile. Its taking quite a few high honors at all the larger shows like world of wheels and truck fest. It wouldn’t suprise me to see this truck showing up and more magazines and articles along with it’s ever growing trophy collection!
