Wartime Shadow

Something to Tinker – Mike Baker’s First Bike

2003 Honda Shadow ACE 750, American Classic Edition

Mike likes to tinker. When stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the Missouri native found a great deal on his first bike, this Honda Shadow. The concept was to replicate the styling of WWII WLA Harley-Davidson. Modifications include: reworked stock exhaust, fork shields removed, fabricated taillight bracket with dual repo 30’s Ford taillights, powder coated engine covers and handle bars. Custom airbrushed pinups of Bettie Page in Red and Gia Genevieve in black.

He added floor boards, front license plate, exhaust wrap, and crash bars. Mike did all the work with the exceptions of: Pinups airbrushed by Noel McEwen, artist for Off Axis Paint in Mooresville, NC. Instagram @mcewenart. Seat covered and custom-made saddle bags by Thomas Driskill of T & A Leather Creations, Springfield MO.

Did I mention he rides this bike nearly every day? Great passion right there.
