The Phantom of the Ace

Everything started when I saw Phantom of the Opera on TV. A bit later, I went to the theater and saw Phantom of the Opera live. Now, I went on with the building plans for a new chopper so the idea of The Phantom was running in my head,

I was talking to a friend who painted most of the bikes for me at the time. He turned to my idea just when it got started. He drew up a frame, that was a bit too long in the back so we put it in the jig and made it a bit shorter. Then I took a rear fender, a tank from Jesse James which I modified. The oil tank was made of pipe bends which was actually intended for a styling bar to my Chevy pickup. All mounts and parts around the bike is handcrafted by me. I worked hard that winter and when spring approached, there was a lot left to do, so it was a lot of nights on the job.

I was ready the morning of the exhibition. This event is the largest in Scandinavia and I won first place. The hard work paid off, it felt good. Got to sleep for a few days after that but it was worth it. Have driven a few summers on it now and after some adjustments to the engine, it works well. It’s mostly just runs around Stockholm should I need to go further, I’ll take my Softail I have customized with other wheels rake and little longer fork ape hangers and so on.
