Speed Scene Live TV

All-right you racers out there. While we were at the March Meet at Famoso, we ran into Scott “Lucky” Hudson and Diana Mite in the Currie booth. They both made their runs for the day in their 1966 Novas and were just hanging out enjoying the scene. I went up to Lucky and introduced myself and we started talking about an internet television show he hosts with Diana. He invited us up to Burbank during the filming of Speed Scene Live!

Speed Scene Live is a one hour program running live every Tuesday evening starting at 6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern. The show takes you behind the flags at race events, shows and other automotive goodness. The show is high-energy. Lucky and Diana Mite are great together as they talk it up with in-studio guests and along with their long-time friend Bruce Barker. This is a show for the sportsman drag racer specifically, and hosted by actual racers!

While we were there on April 3rd, we were joined by Dean Mizdal a top AMA Superbike champion and owner of M Performance. On the phone was Jim Davis of JD motorsports. The two were talking about the Racers Who Care program and how they help inner-city kids learn about the exciting world of motorsports. They show the kids that there are many jobs, not just that of the driver in the industry and help spark a passion in them to consider as a career. They will be taking 780 kids to the Long Beach Grand Prix to get tours and behind the scenes action, all to get them into motorsports.

Bob Beck was also in the studio sharing some Great American Auto Scene spotlights such as the 1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt concept that was way ahead of it’s time in styling. Then Bryant Layton (who usually gives the Off-Road Report) interviewed John Bain of the band Tenfold regarding their upcoming House of Blues/Anaheim cancer benefit for St. Joseph’s Center for Cancer Prevention.

So, not only racing but all kinds of automotive awesomeness! You have to see the show, either live at 6pm PST every Tuesday evening or catch the archive of the show. Visit SpeedScenelLive.com to view the next show or browse their archives.
