For the past 4 years I have been invited to be a part of this incredible event. The Kiwanis Club of Garden Grove, California since 1952 has been helping the community with a variety of events. KiwanisLand is a park that the club uses for charitable events, for youth organizations and special events. Each year the club hosts a car show that receives about 100+ vehicles and owners who see the value that Kiwanis has shown in the community. The park was recently renovated with a new pond built by donations from local businesses.
The show starts off with the raising of the flag with the local Scout troop. This year the Kiwanis club was awarded a plaque of recognition from California State Senator Janet Nguyen presented to KiwanisLand President; Steve Sanders.
Blacktop Magazine features two vehicles from the show in their Motor Minute Series. See them here:
Randy Palmer’s 1960 Dodge Power Wagon and Patrick Comfort’s 1960 VW Beetle.
This year Blacktop Magazine unveiled their new portable Hot Wheels Race Track where kids of all ages raced against each other for bragging rights on the Supermax 4-lane loop-d-loop track. At the end of the show the immense raffle table had nearly everyone a winner. In-fact, if you didn’t win anything they stopped the raffle and allowed those who stood there with tickets to claim a prize. Out of all the cars presented, our own Riff-Raff 1956 Fairlane won the Nice Ride trophy. What an honor!
